What’s Your IPRO Learning Journey?

By Julie Badger

Welcome to the IPRO Product Learning Experience blog!

We kicked off a separate blog, focused specifically on customer education earlier this year. I’m Julie Badger, and I manage the Product Learning Experience Team at IPRO. Our team includes trainers and technical writers whose sole focus is on customer education and ensuring that customers have all the tools they need to become successful and even self-sufficient users of the product.

You might be wondering, “Why not just call it the Training team or the Customer Education team?”

Essentially, it is because our touchpoints extend beyond just delivering training and writing online documentation. We also are involved in vetting UI and field label strings when the product is being developed. We help write flyover help on fields that might be confusing or need more explanation.

Yes, we also deliver training and write documentation. But, our real skill is in both figuring out and in understanding each of our customer’s individual learning journeys and in building the tools to help you along the way.

New online learning portal

Toward that end, over the course of the last year and a half, our team has been developing an online learning portal that can help guide you on your learning journey as an IPRO customer.

We think of a customer’s learning journey in stages, like stops along a map to a destination. You might head straight for the final destination. Or, you might take your time along the route and really dive into a particular spot on the map. Any which way you go, we can meet you along the journey with resources to get you up and moving.

Here’s a visual map of what a learning journey might look like for someone new to IPRO and to eDiscovery and Information Governance:

Understanding your user learning journey

Let’s break this down a little more:

  • 1: Ready…Set…Go! – You’re completely new to eDiscovery and IPRO. Our learning center has free courses that explain eDiscovery and even key eDiscovery and Information Governance terminology that might be helpful for you as you move about in the eDiscovery and Information Governance space.
  • 2: Learn the Fundamentals – Once you have ground under your feet, we recommend you take the Getting Started self-guided learning path for your product area. The Getting Started learning paths are geared toward users who are new to the product and provide a solid foundation for understanding and using the product. When you finish the whole learning path you can become User Certified and even add a certification to your LinkedIn profile.
  • 3: Go Deeper – Next up, Getting Started training. Getting Started training is available as a live virtual instructor-led training (VILT), via Zoom, or as a recorded webinar series. The lecture-based format for this course allows students to watch the trainer complete essential tasks in the application and follow along if they like. The VILT training includes Q&A sessions, allowing the trainer to work with you to answer any workflow-specific questions you may have.
  • 4: Explore More – Now that you know the essential functionality, you might want to check out some of the free courses we offer, featured in this blog, or some of the stand-alone courses that dive deeper into specific areas. Whatever your needs, there’s a lot to choose from in order deepen your understanding of our products and gain knowledge while you’re at it.
  • 5: Get Admin Certified – After you’ve used the product for 6 months or more, you might decide that you want to be Administrator certified. You can take our virtual instructor-led training, or the recorded webinar version, of the Administrator Certification course for the product you own. Once you complete the course, you’re eligible to purchase and take the Administrator Certification exam. Pass both parts of the exam and you’re Administrator Certified in that IPRO product and can add your certification to your LinkedIn profile!

This is just one example of a learning journey that we support here at IPRO.
